Since 6 DPO until today (9 DPO) I've been getting cramps that are like a "stitch" in my side. You know, like the kind you get when you go running, but these are a bit lower. At times they're mild and at others they're fairly severe. Because I was on BCP for so long, I don't know what "normal" cramps are like. Is this type of pain considered normal cramping?
Re: Cramps that feel like a "stitch" in your side?
I definitely think this is the case! We all start analyzing our bodies so much more once we're TTC. But, I guess it could be the affect of coming off BCP for most of us. We're not used to what normal pain feels like because we've been sheltered from it for so long!
Glad to hear that other people are having this. I worried a little about the possibility of a cyst, but I doubt it's that. Probably just normal aches and pains, but I'll definitely have it checked out if it continues. THANKS!
That is exactly how I described my ovulation pains. I also felt those same pains on and off from 7 - 12 dpo. Tested positive 14 dpo. Good luck to you!
Obviously, I would love it if these are pregnancy symptoms, but: There's always the possibility that I didn't ovulate when I think I did (I decided to quit temping, but check CM and CP). Just in case I didn't, how long did your ovulation pains last? 4 days seem like a long time to me, but maybe it's not!
I think every woman is different, so it probably varies on a case by case basis. But I can tell you what my experience was:
I charted four cycles before we started TTC. Over the course of those four cycles, I consistently felt ovulation pains around day 11. A couple times I would feel them for as long as three days; the other times I only felt them for a day or so. Also, over those four cycles, I never felt ovulation pains after FF had said that I ovulated.
In the fifth cycle I charted (which was when we started TTC), I felt ovulation pains from days 9-13. 5 days total--longer than I had felt them before. I should also say that I felt them on both sides, which had never happened before, but that is why they lasted so long.
At 7 dpo, I started experiencing what felt like ovulation pains again. They continued through 12 dpo. I was really confused since I had not felt that before, and I figured I was just overanalyzing things since we were TTC.
I tested positive at 14 dpo, and I now believe that the cramping I felt 7-12 dpo may have been the corpus luteum.
Like I said, this was just my experience so it might not mean anything for your unique situation. But either way, that was how it went for me. :-)
