We invited about 100 people for a coed Saturday late afternoon outdoor/bbq. The hostesses are bbq'ing the main food but also making lots of appetizers and desserts.
About 85 people were invited, the scary thing is that I think most will come. Ive talked to a lot of them before the invites were sent(yesterday) and they all planned to go, sadly, im hoping they all dont come cause thats just a lot of people! But it will be okay if they do, more the merrier right? ?We are have a taco guy! Its a popular thing where I live, and its fabulous, so yes its catered.
I had a total of 4 showers (3 with my first baby and 1 with my 3rd...17 years difference). At the first 3 showers the average was about 12 people at each. The 4th shower there were about 30 people.
My DD had a shower for her first and there were about 50-60 people.
None of the showers were catered. At my DD's shower the guys (my DH, her DH, and my oldest DS made lasagna, garlic bread, salad, and veggie tray). They served us as well!
Shower #2 (work): ~30 people are invited and they're having salad, pizza, and cake delivered. Wouldn't really call that catering, but it is an outside vendor providing the food.
Around 50 are invited, maybe half that will show. We were originally going to make the food ourselves, but now I think it'll be catered by a local cafe.

wow, some of you are having huge showers! I believe about 30 people are being invited to my shower, but invites havent gone out yet so not sure how many will attend.....
My shower is not until October, but we are sending out about 30 invites, and I expect about 25 to show up. We're having it in a private room at a cute little Italian restaurant (which is only about 3 miles from my house, thank god!)

My 1st shower w/my ds was co-ed and we had 75 people. it was a very non-traditional shower where the guys played pool, basketball shootout and ping pong, WII, etc. and the ladies hung out and had 1 baby game.
It was not catered.
Family is throwing the 2nd one..so we will see. It will only have 20 people- ladies only this time.

There were about 35 people at mine. Not catered, but the food was simple: sandwiches, salads, veggie and fruit platters... that sort of thing.
