I called my Dr. They said to go to the ER. I took my pulse at home, resting pulse is 90+. I've been having pressure in my chest, getting winded easily, retaining water. Would you go?

I don't mean this to be snarky, but why even call the doctor for advice if you are going to second guess them? They are trained professionals. I would have grabbed a book and a snack and headed to the ER after getting off the phone with them.
Yes I would go. I had preclamsia (sp?) with my first child. My bp was the same way. I called my doc and they had me go to the hos. The hos just monitered me for a few hours and sent me home on bed rest. The next day I went to the doc and my bp bottom number was 110. They had to induce and deliver that day. Preclamsia is very dangerous. I would go. GL to you.

I understand your hesitation, I'm a nurse so I always push things to the last minute because I am the only one who truly knows my set of symptoms and can diagnose and analyze myself. DH hates this! But when I finally go in I just tell them what my diagnosis is, they confirm it, and then I'm on my way...
If I were in your shoes I'd have a bunch of other things I'd be looking at, blood pressure, dizziness, pitting edema yes/no, wheezing lung sounds or no, fetal movement, numbness in any limbs, visual disturbances, etc etc... and that would help me decide whether to go to doc or go to ER...
But in your case if doc says go, then go!

You definitely need to go. (And a bunch of pregnant women can't give you better advice than your doctor!)
Good luck and let us know what happens.
