My nipple is now a chew toy...

Caleb's newest talent is to grab onto my nipple then turn his head rotating my nipple with it. He does this a few times before he actually starts nursing. It doesn't hurt THAT much, but its not exactly comfortable.Wink I am thinking he's teething so it could be uncomfortable for him to latch? Or is he just playing? I was looking on Kellymom for suggestions and didn't see much. Anyone experience this?

    Liam started biting my nipples every time he was teething.  He would chomp down and make me scream LOL!  It always stopped as soon as the tooth broke through.  Not sure if that's what's going on with Caleb or not, but I hope he stops it soon for your sake! :)

    Nate never did quite what you are describing, but he did bite some when he was teething.  I always told him "no" and I would stop the nursing session for a couple of minutes before resuming.  It was always a short phase and luckily he never did any damage.

    Ella's been doing that too.  I think it's b/c she's easily distracted with everything around her.  I usually unlatch, stop the nursing session and the resume like ECUGirl.  If it persists, I usually move into a more quiet place to nurse.

    DS has been doing this the past couple of weeks and turns out he was teething.  Poor thing must have been miserable. My sister recommended tylenol and it seems to have helped him.

    He has now started staring at my nipple as if it were a toy and starts grabbing it, trying to play with it.  As if it hasn't been there the past 6 months.  Too funny!
