Orlando in late September?

Does anyone know if it is still sweltering hot down there in late Sept?

MIL wants to take us to Disneyworld. I'm all over it! But the dates she is suggesting are in August (when I know it would be miserably hot) and late September...

We were hoping more like Oct or Nov, but we certainly don't want to pass up a free trip!

Re: Orlando in late September?

  • I think it would still be pretty hot in Orlando in Sept. Its still usually pretty warm here then.

  • late September you will still find the weather to be pretty hot.  Maybe high 80's.  It is definitely better than August!  The good thing about September is there is usually no crowd and no lines for the rides.  Most of the rides have AC in the waiting area, so you could always find ways to escape the heat if it gets too bad.
  • It shouldn't be too bad in September, but do remember that September is in hurricane season.  I don't know if you'd purchase travel insurance or what, but I'd hate for a hurricane to ruin your trip!
  • Can I come too!?! Angel

  • Yes it will still be warm but not as bad as August or July obviously.  The trade off is that if you wait until it's cooler--like Nov--the crowds will be CRAZY!!!  I agree with pp that Disney has done a nice job of trying to make the lines be in the shade with fans or inside with AC.  You also can use the fast passes for the rides that generally have the longest lines.  We were just there in May--it was hot but we never waited more than about 20 min for a ride and most we were able to fast pass or there was a minimal wait.  The only bummer was that Space Mountain was closed when we were there. Have fun!!

  • We went to FL (St. Augustine) in September and it felt like a NC summer.  It was still very humid and hot, but I deal well with those temps.  I like the hot weather.  But my DH doesn't like it and he still enjoyed our trip.  He wasn't miserable at all.

Random: I love St. Augustine! :)
