SAHMs with clingy babies

DD has shown a preference towards me for quite sometime which is to be expected. But lately its getting worse. When DH holds her or tries to play with her, she is always looking and fussing for me. While he is holding her, she is trying to leap out of his arms to get back to me. I feel so bad because I know he wishes he could spend more time with her. And now the little bit of time he does get, she wants me. Is this just a phase? Will she get passed it soon?

    It'll get better. DS had a phase where he only wanted me to nurse, and wanted Daddy for everything else. Then he had a phase where he wanted only me, all the time, and now he's fine with both me and Daddy (and he likes Grandma and Grandpa, too).

    Just a working mom's perspective. My DD is the same way. It's not always a SAHM thing. She has gotten somewhat better with it and wanting to be with daddy more in the past month or so.

    DD has been doing the exact same thing. What I do is hand her off to him and immediately leave the room for awhile. It's been working pretty good. She forgets about me and laughs and plays with DH. HTH!

    M went through that. Now she does it only at night when she wakes up.

    This exactly. DD went through a phase where she only wanted me; if I was in the same room and she could see me, she'd fuss for me (no matter who was holding her) - if she couldn't see me she was happy as a clam with whoever was holding her. It did pass, for the past month or so, she actually reaches out to someone else often when I'm holding her. It'll get better.
