I need to find someone to come to my house 1-2x a week for the next five-six weeks to watch my kids so I can focus on working and getting weddings done.
I was planning to find someone in high school but my SIL mentioned maybe getting two younger girls (middle school) that are sisters or friends and are responsible. They'd watch the kids but I'd be here just in case.
What would you pay for two girls, around 10-14 to watch your kids? Would you pay per hour? Or per day? I'm thinking 6-8 hours a day.
Re: What would you pay for this? Babysitting
I asked my niece the other day what the going rate per hour is and she said 10 bucks. She is 14. This seems really high to me...it's higher than min wage right? Then again, I think I was making 4-5 bucks an hour 22 years ago.......I wouldn't know what to tell you.
One option is to contact one of those places that teach babysitter certification classes (hospitals?) and see what they recommend. Another option is to see if there is a girl scout troop needing to earn some badges. You could get a couple from there maybe?
I have a friends daughter come once a week for a couple hours, so I can get yard work and shopping done. Well and a shower without DS screaming from the PNP. I pay her $10 for 2 hours and she rides her bike here so I don't have to pick her up.
I guess maybe find some through church or wherever and ask them what they'd want/expect while speaking with their parents in conjunction? You want them to be invested and interested and feeling fairly compensated or they'll just screw off and not take it seriously.
When I was 14 I was making ~$8 an hour babysitting, that was about 14 yrs ago and in a lcol area.
I'd guess at least $7-$9 now.
well, I know here, the private schools require community service hours every semester, in order for their students to graduate. So I'd start there
I coached cheerleading for years at a Catholic high school here, and they require 20 hours of service from every student.... some of the girls still call me and ask me if I need a babysitter
but if that's not an option, I would think for middle school girls $5 is fine..
