"g" Diaper/CDing Moms

This may be a weird question but I was wondering what you used for wipes.  Do you just use wipes and toss those or do you use wash clothes?  I had my first situation w/ poop and a g diaper today - I was like what the heck do I do with these poopy wipes, so I just tossed them in my diaper pale but now I am worried about the smell.  Any suggestions?

  • You can use wash cloths, but in general they're less soft and more expensive than wipes, either ones you buy or make yourself.  I bought 16 for $12 before DD was born and those are the same ones we still use.  Ours are flannel and cotton velour, but you can use most fabrics.  You can use just water or a diluted cloth wipe (oil) solution if you'd like, but water is really all you need.  We toss them in the diaper pail along with the diapers and everything diaper-related gets washed together.  They're thicker than disposable wipes so I think they're a lot easier to use, in addition to the other benefits. :)

  • You can use cloth wipes.  Several places sell them online, or you can make your own if you're crafty.  Then just mix up some wipe solution to use with them.  There are several recipes, I just use water, a little baby wash, and some oil for mine.  Put in a spray bottle or just use a bowl to wet the wipes before you use.  Or use a wipes warmer so they're pre-soaked.
