Hi Guys, How early is too early to register? I'm a little OCDish and am reading Baby Bargains (great book) and referencing friends for info. I'm 15 weeks along- is it too early to start a registry? When did you register?
I registered around 21 weeks, after we had our big u/s and found out the sex. I think a lot of people wait until they are "half-way" through but it is totally a personal preference thing. There is no one who can stop you from registering now.

We registered after we found out the gender! I don't think it's ever too early! Just don't want to put any clothes on there until right before the shower!
I registered at 26 weeks. One thing to keep in mind is places like BRU get new designs and products ALL THE TIME. What you register for at 15 weeks might not be available at the time of your shower or later in your pregnancy.
I was really bad. I started my online registry shortly after finding out I was pregnant. I figured that there is so much stuff that baby needs, I might as well add a little at a time and make sure we have everything covered.
We registered at 21 weeks, we wanted to wait til after our big U/S and that was the first time we had available. If you aren't finding out the sex I don't find any reason to wait.
We are not finding out the sex but waiting to register. Ditto pp that things are discontinued all the time. We are having our shower at 33 weeks so probably around 25 or so we will start. I would imagine the invites go out a few weeks before so we will have a goal to be done by 30.
My shower is actually going to be pretty early...around 26 weeks because of multiples. We are going to find out the sexes of the babies so we will start registering after that...def by 20 weeks I would like to be almost done if possible. I have started a wish list at BRU just to keep items that I have been viewing and reviewing in one place.
I started mine already but that's only because it's twins and we will also be doing showers earlier than if I was having a singleton due to the fact that I will deliver by 38 weeks and the chance of bedrest. So, I started mine on-line at BRU and picked some stuff but the really fun stuff and clothes i am waiting until we find out what we are having. I am a planner though and we registered early for our wedding too. I say go for it if you want to.
I registered around 17 weeks, which was a little earlier than I expected, but my mom was sending out invites for my baby shower that week, so I wanted to be sure my registries were up. We're not finding out the sex of our baby before I give birth, so there was no reason for us to wait until after our ultrasound.
Honestly, does it matter? Who cares when you start the registry? There are no rules or etiquette about when one must register....sorry for the snark, I'm tired and and cranky, and I've always been mystified by questions like this. If you want to start adding items, then start.
Anyway, I registered at 17.5 weeks. With our busy schedules, it was the only time in the foreseeable future that we had to take a day to drive 2+ hours to the closest BRU. We registered for almost entirely gender neutral items.
