I haven't tried it yet but next time I use ours I plan on it with a bit of vinegar (already done the vinegar though). I'd also like to hear people's experiences!
I would expect I'd have to add a rinse step in there to get all the soap out of the carpet that I don't normally do with just vinegar/water.
I used about half a dime's worth on my hair once, and it took 15 minutes to rinse out. If nobody has an exact amount, I'd start with very, very little unless you want said foam pit

I imagine you wouldn't use a lot at all.
(I have an image in my mind of my living room becoming a foam pit. :oD)
