Are cart wheels ok?

Odd question but I'm dancing in a show on Saturday. The dance calls for a cartwheel. I'm assuming it's fine and I'm just being a paranoid pregnant lady but I dunno. I can't find anything online about it, apparently this isn't an issue for many pregnant women...LOL.?

Re: Are cart wheels ok?

  • Yes. But only if you put a cork up there to prevent the baby from falling out.

Yes  yep, this should do the trick.

  • I'm assuming you could do a cartwheel before, yes? I don't know I'd attempt my first one now....

  • Have you been practicing the dance and doing cartwheels already? I would assume that if you have already been doing them that it would be safe to continue. I wouldn't attempt a cartwheel, but only because I know I would fall on my ass or my face and either one would probably hurt me and possibly the baby.

  • As long as you could do a cartwheel before, it's probably not an issue now.  The only thing I can think of is the change in your center of gravity that might make it more difficult.  That being said, I wouldn't do it ... but that's only because I haven't ever successfully completed a cartwheel. lol
  • I know inversions are generally not allowed in yoga during pregnancy.

  • I wouldn't for fear that i would fall.

If you dont fall, though, i dont think its dangerous.

I was thinking the same thing.

  • I think the only concern with doing a cart?wheel?while?pregnant?is the?possibility?of falling and hurting yourself but if you can do one and are comfortable doing one go for it I know if I tried it wouldn't be pretty.?

Thanks for the insight! This helps my google search more!?

  • I probably wouldn't. Rollercoasters and other amusement rides are not advised for pregnant women because of the jerky movements and going upside-down. I imagine a cartwheel is along the same lines.
  • This question is funny, but even funnier that some people answered it seriously. I could not, I am sorry.
