I actually came back last Wednesday and I said I wouldn't get back on here at work since I am not addicted anymore after being home, but I am so bored and need baby talk. Here I am! With lots of time on my hands... blah.
As a side note, I despise pumping at work. I think I actually have pump issues too. I get the same amount with my manual pump in 10 minutes that takes me almost 30 minutes to get with my electric. I think I am so stressed over time away from my desk and what my coworkers are thinking and that is making it worse.
Re: Back to work
Aw, sorry you had to go back to work!
As for the pump, what kind do you have? I'd call their customer support line and tell them that you're getting more from a manual pump. Maybe there is a problem with that pump. With regards to your coworkers, I know it's really hard to relax & not worry about what they are thinking, but that's the best thing to do. Take a book or something distracting with you when you pump, so that you aren't thinking about them. Stress can affect how much you're able to pump, so try not to let that get to you!

Thanks for the suggestion. I may just give them a call. I almost wonder if it is because of the brand
My electric is Ameda and my manual is Medela. I love my little manual, I wish I had bought it from the beginning because it would be been so nice while I was at home and just pumping occaisionally. It does make me wish I had a do-over and could get the Medela electric, it just costs so much more!
I feel your pain!! About being back to work, pumping, etc...at least we are all *here* for each other though!!!
Ditto on pumping, yuck!!!! I hate pumping, but I am going to keep forging ahead because I LOVE nursing DD and I don't want to even think about quitting anytime soon.
I have an Ameda too, and I have had some frustrations with it, for sure. I just feel like I should be getting more per session!!!
I only get enough for 1 bottle, so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong...or what.
I REALLY feel like I should be getting more as well. I can be incredibly engorged after 3 hours and still only pump about 2 oz (per side). I KNOW there is more in there, I can feel it! Have you noticed how one side seems to have less suction than the other as well?
I am definitely not going to give up either, I adore nursing DS. I will be sad the day he is weaned (I can't help but think of it with all these newly weaned LOs lately).
