What are your commonly misspelled words?

Thinking back to ABC listing Sincerely as being one of 'her' words, I thought it might be interesting to see what words others list.

I remember having a hard time learning to spell 'people' in school... I have no clue why!

And, because I'm a nerd... here's a list of the 100 most commonly misspelled words :) (misspell being one of them!)

Re: What are your commonly misspelled words?

  • I always have a hard time with exercise. I always want to spell it "excercise." February is another one for me. The only way I remember that one is from an episode of Golden Girls. Silly, I know.
  • Loading the player...
  • I've got quite a few (and I'm not spell checking them now!)

vacuum, probably, adventurous... there are more, I'll be back :)

    ETA: awkward, verbiage, receiving

  • Oh and is travelling with 1 or 2 Ls?
  • I'm a pretty good speller in general (in HS I competed at the State-level spelling championship once, and the County-level twice Geeked), but I can never seem to remember whether 'broccoli' has 2 L's or 2 C's. And I have trouble with traveling too...

However, when growing up, my hardest, most often misspelled word was "Wednesday".

To this day, in my head, I pronounce it "WED-NESS-DAY" to remind myself.

I'm a spelling nerd like Zoe...but I did see the new-ish commercial of Cheer detergent with the British lady asking everyone how many washes it took to get something clean...anyway, it flashes "Suprisingly" blahblahblah (it's surprisingly)...I don't know if it's a true error or they are playing off of the British lady's accent. Just a random thought I've had lately. ;)
