is it possible to shade half a cell? my boss is making me do this chart where you show completion.. so if something is 100% complete, I am just shading the entire cell.. but what do I do for 50% complete?? any ideas? TIA
You can't really split cells (that I know of), but you CAN merge them. So maybe merge two cells (select both, right click, alignment, merge) for 100% and then leave them be for 50%
This makes me sad.... I pph Excell (not the new version - can't figure out where anything is in that one...)
Me too - Excel and I are BFF. It truly makes me happy. When I was getting married my staff used to ask my daily how many Excel spreadsheets I had going for the wedding - they knew my way too well.
We do red/yellow/green for status reports. Is that an option?
Or maybe do a pattern shading for 50%?
You can also use Conditional Formatting to apply the colors, so you can just type your value in the cell and let it do the colors for you. This is good if you think you might want to change the colors/patterns later.
