I'm really sold on Reggio Emilia. DD starts at an amazing RE school in the fall. I can't believe we got in. They use some Montessori materials, but not the methods (which makes me happy. Montessori can be so rigid.)
I have a few pro-Waldorf acquaintances, but after a bit of digging around I found out how controversial Waldorf education is. (And for good reason. Unless one is an anthroposophist it just doesn't make sense for a person to send one's child to such a school.)
I know nothing about Sudbury or Democratic schools though.... Anyone want to fill me in?
Re: Anyone interested in alternative early childhood education?
It's really hard to get into any of the daycares/pre-k's in my area, so we were lucky to get DD into the center where she'll be starting in September. It isn't officially any of the classifications that you mentioned but I do feel that they will treat her the way I would as much as possible. I don't know about them wearing her but overall I'm happy w/our choice. I'm very curious about more info if anyone can share...
