so DH comes home for lunch 2-3x a week to save money and see me and DD. today... SOOO not worth it.
DD has been pretty fussy for the past couple of days. not sure why, but we always assume its teething or just being in the tantrum stage of life. Anyway, she was napping early today (down at 10:30, i expected her to wake up on her own around 12:30/1pm) since she only has 1 nap a day now.
DH came home at 12:15, dragging the trash can down the sidewalk next to her window yelling to his mom on his phone... which got the dog barking. since the dog was barking he assumed we were playing somewhere, so just walks in the house and starts YELLING at the top of his lungs for the dog to be quiet.
of course this startles her to death and she is SCREAMING for me to come get her... i get her changed and calmed down. he makes himself a sandwich and i brush her hair (she hates). she calms back down and he gives her a cup (which she's not to have since its breakable) then he tells her its lunch time, takes the cup away and goes to put her in her chair... no warning, just takes it! she is a mess... so i spent the past 45 mins with her throwing a HUGE fit, he's pissed, she's all sniffles and now won't eat.
uuug.... sometimes... i just wanna go back to work...
thanks for letting me vent.
Re: DH's help: sometimes more trouble than its worth (vent)
We cosleep and I deal with Ds at night (because H sucks at it and DS prefers mommy). So sometimes when DS wakes, DH sits up and says, "DS you need to lay down and go to sleep".
Anyone want to place bets on whether that works? Um, how about no. Not once, never. It just pisses DS off more. So helpful honey, and you are so good at learning from past experience about what does and doesn't work
(((hugs)))
Men aren't always the smartest creatures.
This sounds a bit like my DH (although he does actually have calming skillz). *chuckle*
Ugh!
Methinks someone needs to bust out the IcyHot.
he's literally 10 minutes away with limited traffic... and what we used to spend on him taking lunch negated any benefits (since people steal from the fridge and he had to have things that didn't require refrigeration). that and he likes to get out of the office at lunch time, so if he's not coming home he's going somewhere for lunch (or getting roped into lunch with some other exec since he's a Director).
Can I just say that your whole story makes your siggy absolutely HILARIOUS?!
So sorry... and FWIW you're soooo not alone!
