We are trying to get O to sleep through the night better, he wakes up so often fussy for no reason. I always go in and rock him to get him to settle, and he never even opens his eyes. So last night we decided to try a kind of modified Ferber. We let him fuss for a few minutes, sometimes he fell back asleep in 2-3 minutes. If not, we went in there and just gave him his paci or rubbed him saying it was ok, and he would pass right out. Unfortunately, we had to do this 4 or 5 times, plus a feeding around 4. We also put him down earlier when he was drowsy and he put himself to sleep.
I think I ruined it though, because he started crying hard around 5:30 and I just brought him to bed with us instead of getting up for the day. I was too darn tired! Once he was in bed with us he slept awesome... yet another habit we have to break. Oh well, we will keep trying the kind of CIO for a few nights and see it gets any better.
