Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Has anyone tried "baby-led solids"?

Or "baby-led weaning"? I've been reading a bit about it and would interested to hear what people's experiences have been. What foods did you use? Did your baby catch on right away? Did you baby seem to enjoy it?

Re: Has anyone tried "baby-led solids"?

  • What is it?  A brand?  A cooking style?
  • Loading the player...
  • Page JARBaby about it.  I think she's trying it with her DD.
  • It's an approach for introducing solids that skips purees. You let the baby eat "real" food right from the get go.

    Thanks, I'll page JAR.

i would recommend it to most people, however, you have to be pretty steely to not freak out if your kid gags. the baby will definitely gag at some points, but henry's eaten almost everything i can think of and has never choked.

i read https://tinyurl.com/2pfcbr a lot before i started with henry. henry was eating off the indian buffet line by the time he was 6.5 months old.
