....I really want to start a scrapbook for my LO, but I dont know where to begin. There is so much out there to buy - I dont know what is necessary. Any suggestions? Thanks!
You could take a class at your local craft store like Michaels or AC Moore. That or look up a consultant from either Stampin Up or Creative Memories. They offer in home classes. You could also just grab a kit at your local craft store.
Any of those could get you started. Also do a google search. You'll get a bunch of hits for great sites to give you inspiration & ideas.
I agree with pp about finding classes. Our local Pages In Time does scrap booking classes and I bet they are helpful. I am lucky that my MIL is practically a professional scrapbooker (is that even a word?) and gave me a lot of hints and tips.
I always start with a list of the pages I want to make, so I know where to begin. For my first daugther's first year, I made a list that included: hospital stay, first night at home, first bath, first holiday(s), first everything. When I go to the stores, I have my list of the pages I want to make so I am sure to get everything I need.
Print out the pictures you want to use for the scrapbook and think about different pages to make around those pictures.
I have a lot of scrapbooking supplies because I have been doing it for a long time, but some of the necessary items are decorative letters and stickers, different sizes of colored paper, and scissors with different edges.
Just do one page at a time and don't skip around.
Have fun!
