I had seen pictures all over the bump of babies wearing sunglasses. I thought I remembered hearing/reading somewhere that sunglasses were bad for babies and kids. So I googled it to see if I could find out the accuracy of my memory and reason for it. To my surprise, I actually discovered the opposite and strong feelings that babies should use sunglasses to protect their eyes from UV rays. So when I was out shopping, I picked-up a pair of 100% UV blocking sunglasses for P. Yesterday, we were at a church picnic and had P in her sunglasses and MIL said, "I hate to burst your bubble, but babies shouldn't wear sunglasses." WTH!!! SIL backed her up and explained why and that her husband's eye Dr. told him that. I am soooo confused. Are they good? Are they bad? Is it subjective? What are your thoughts?
Re: Trying to figure out baby sunglasses
What was the reasoning as to why babies should not wear them?
I feel it may be one of those things that falls into 'everything in moderation'. I don't put them on DS every time we go outside but he turns his head and squeezes his eyes closed if the sun gets in his eyes.

I had never even thought about them being bad! That does make sense about having to be 100% UV blocking.
Connor takes them off within 2 minutes of having them on anyway lol
It was something about children needing to squint to naturally block the sunlight naturally and if they don't their eyes won't develop correctly.
