Ovidrel and when to test

I was just wondering how long it takes for an HCG injection to move through your system so you can test without getting a false positive.  I still have a ways to go before I can test (I'm only 4DPO) but was just wondering so I don't test too early.  TIA.

  • Everyones different - the only way to know is to test it out. Get some cheap HPT's and I would start tomorrow. Once you get a negative you can start testing for a real positive. GL

  • That really makes no sense because it may say + until it's out of my system but then if I'm really pg it will continue to say + (therefore the tests will never be -).  Approximately how long does it take for the medicine to run its course and for a HPT to give me a true BFP?  I don't want to have to buy 15 tests for every day just to be sure.  I would rather wait out the 2 weeks and test then but I just wanted to be positive that the medicine will be out of my system by then.

  • From what I understand it takes 24-36 hours to go thru a half-life, so halving each day, which is why most people test the trigger out. However, I wait until 17dpo to wait because my lp lengthens with HCG trigger. I hate seeing a negative test
