2nd Trimester

I don't want a shower..

90% of what we need we are getting free :)

We are very excited.  My SIL is giving us so much stuff and so is a good friend.

Since I don't want a shower, do I register for small things that people might want to buy?  Do I not register for anything?

We need a stroller (the one we want is $1K) and a baby mattress as well as a baby table/dresser.

Any thoughts?

Re: I don't want a shower..

  • You could have a diapers shower or something.
  • Loading the player...
  • Haha i wasn't thinking baby shower, I was thinking regular shower... then I thought crap I forgot to take a shower today! (I was cleaning all morning)

I'd still register for some small stuff.  I registered yesterday at Target because my mom is having a shower super early for me... so I wanted my guests to at least have some sort of option in what/something to buy. But as I was there I was like, I don't want any of this crap! It was very frustrating.

  • Gas drops, tylenol, bibs, all the meds really!! Qtips, towels, washcloths, shampoo, wash, lotion, Diapers, there is so much! TOO much to list!

  • exactly, I don't want a bunch of crap, and I don't want my poor friends to have to suffer through a shower.

Showers are just not my thing, along with being the center of attention.

  • I would still register for everything else you are going to need along with some small items.  You can always purchase everything left with the completion coupon and save some money!

    haha! That made me laugh!!!

  • I'd register for small stuff you can't get used...people are going to want to get you gifts and I know I'd rather have a list to go off of than to have to come up with something on my own!

  • I love when people register for qtips.  spend the 99 cents yourself!!!
  • You might as well register even if you don't have a shower. That way, people know what you still need- like the mattress or the table. I would also register for diapers- you can never have too many of those!! Wink
  • A friend of mine had a baby welcoming party about a month or so after her second child was born and I thought that was a great idea for 2nd timers or people who don't need a lot of stuff. You could register for little stuff (bath, meds, etc) and then the baby is the center of attention! Don't know if that appeals to you, but it worked out great for my buddy.
  • How about a BOOK shower????  I think you can even register on Amazon.
