First U/S

Well I just got back from my first U/S and we were very shocked to see two gestational sacs and two yolk sacs. Neither one of us have any family history of twins but it looks like at this point it's what we have!

One fetus had a heartbeat and one did not. The tech and the doctor said that today is pretty much the cusp of when the heart starts beating, so there's no way to tell if the other baby's heart will start beating or not. At this point I'm still in shock and happy that we have at least one healthy baby so far. I'll probably go back in 2-3 weeks to see if "baby A" is progressing.

    how exciting! congrats! if you don't mind me asking, were you on any meds when you conceived or is this totally natural?

    Sorry, I should have mentioned that. No, I was not on any meds. That was actually the first thing the tech asked.

    Thanks. It's actually baby B that has the heartbeat and baby A that doesn't. It wasn't that clear in my OP. But thanks so much everyone for the thoughts and prayers.

    Ah. Right. Ok, congrats on healthy baby B and I will keep baby A and ITS (edited for my own sanity...I hate when I make that mistake) heartbeat in my thoughts and prayers.

    Congrats on your hopefully 2 healthy babies! I'll keep my fingers crossed that Baby A gets an early case of twin rivalry and tries to be just like healthy Baby B!

    I was a Baby A (of an A-B set) myself, so I'll be rooting for them!
