Hello ladies, I've been hanging around your board for a few weeks after a fellow nestie recommended I post here (thanks Me&Mr.T ). I've usually only posted over on GP, but after so many passing months, frustration has settled in and I've kinda just gone away. I love the feel and vibe of this board and as funny as it may sound, kinda feel more "at home" here.
A little bit about me - dh and I started TTC last June when we stopped all forms of birth control. Come the new year there was no luck yet so I started charting for the next 4 months before I realized that I wasn't ovulating. My periods are regular 28-31 day cycles, so I was never suspicious of anything. I went to my ob with charts in hand to show him my discovery, but all I was given in return was a look of foolishness and some pretty archaic advice. He pretty much scolded me for "trying so hard" - referring to the charting - and then told me to have sex CD's 12,14,16,18 and lie flat for 30 minutes after doing so. Imagine getting that sorta advice from your own ob/gyn?! The only good thing he did was send my dh for a sperm analysis, which unfortunately came back with very low count results and even lower motility.
Dh and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary (June 8) by meeting with an RE whom we have both fallen in love with! He is just great and I can't talk enough about him! So after numerous tests for me (HSG, a sonohysterogram and hysteroscopy) my doctor discovered a fairly large polyp in my uterus and figures that is the likely culprit of my annovulatory cycles. A second SA for Dh showed the same low results and we were told that IVF will most likely be our only way of getting pg.
So with that being said (and I appreciate if you've made it this far) I look forward to sharing my experiences and feelings with you all. Sometimes all of this can be too damn frustrating and I'm hoping it helps to be able to vent to others going through the same bullsh!t. Thanks ladies and I look forward to chatting with you all
Re: New to TTTC - Intro
Sorry you had to find your way here but the girls here are sweet and really helpful.
Sounds like you have a good plan for moving forward so good luck.
Question: I see the dairygirl badge around and I've picked up a bit of the story but do you mind filling me in? You can pm if you'd like.
Because we're fancy like that.
Welcome to the board! Sorry you're here, of course.
At least you are now with a doctor who knows his stuff and you have a plan, as difficult as it is to consider given what you were thinking one year ago.
I just wanted to say-- I'm also married to a redhead!
dairygirl is a nestie who posts mostly on the D&R board. Here is her blog which would best explain her story:

i recognize you from D&R!
my story is very similar to yours, with a fibroid, rather than a polyp in my uterus for which i went thru 2 surgeries. i am in the middle of my first IVF attempt (ER tomorrow).
i can definitely testify that being over here has helped w/the the venting or just even reading that others are going thru what i am in one way or another and not even have to post my own OP, just share like this in a post response.
anway, welcome!
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
Welcome...sorry you have to be here but the ladies on this board are wonderful. Good luck and I hope your stay is short.
Hi & welcome! I am a newbie as well & I have very similar circumstances as you. We have severe MFI & I just had a hysteroscopy last week to remove a polyp that turned out to be infarcted. Now I am waiting for my post op appt to see if we are cleared to proceed with IVF in early Aug! I am excited & scared!
AND i am married to a redhead- although he shaves his head-his goatee is red!
Good Luck!
