4 Month Wakeful....is it true?

Disclaimer: I really shouldn't be complaining about DS's sleeping habits because he has been a pretty good sleeper.

With that said, is the 4 month wakeful really true?  DS was STTN (8:30/9:00pm -5:30am when I have to wake him up for work) but this last week he has been waking up once, sometimes two times, a night.  Ahhhh!  What is bad is when he wakes up 30 mins before the alarm goes off.  Did any of your experience this?  Did your baby eventually go back to STTN?  Any tips?  I haven't been doing anything different lately.  He just wakes up, wants to eat sometimes, but not always.

  • It was true for Orion.  He started waking up wanting to eat around that time.  It lasted for about a week or so and then went back to STTN.

  • It was true for us as well.  It took a few weeks to get back on track.

  • It was very true for us. We had to do CIO to get her back to STTN. I gave her a chance to do it on her own...but after 3ish weeks of her waking up 10+ times at night to nurse just for the fun of it, I drew the line. One night of CIO and she was back to normal.

  • It happened with Avery.  I am SO happy DH will be home when J hits 4 months.

  • was true for both my girls.  lasted a couple weeks with both of them.  One, got back on schedule really easy... the youngest, was a little tougher to get back on track. (though I'm sure it didn't help that I went back to work around 4 months also, so she started daycare at that time)

  • We have been going back and forth - one week of STTN and one week of him waking up once (usually at 2am).  I feel like I can't fault him b/c when I put him down at 7:30ish, 2am is really over 6 hours, and that's all that most people expect out of a baby that young.  I just feed him at 2am, and he will go back to sleep immediately until around 6:30am (again - almost 5 hours - good for a baby that young).  I understand where you are coming from.  We have such a good sleeper, that I feel like I can't complain when he is waking up only once in the middle of the night.  (even though it does make me tired the next day!)
