On Monday June 29th DH and I went for my 39 week appointment and ultra sound. The baby was measuring big and was still high. The decision was made to do a c-section the next day. I have a bleeding disorder and my doctor wanted to make sure both he and my hematologist would be there for my delivery. So I dropped DH back off at work and went back to my job to clean some things up and tell my boss that I would not be back. I then went to the hospital to have blood work done. I was told to come in the next day at 10:30 a.m. for a 12:30p.m. C-section. The next day when DH and I got to the hospital there were two emergencies and two scheduled C-sections before me so we were sent home. I was not happy because I couldn?t eat or drink again thing. So back home we went and I tried to rest. The doctor called at 1:00 p.m. to apologize for the delay and told us to come back at 2:30 p.m. When we arrived back at the hospital I was quickly put in a room on monitors. They started my IV and medication for my bleeding disorder. My nurse then had to put in my catheter. This was seriously the worst part of the whole thing! But it was over quickly and I was able to relax again. DH and I just hung out and my family would come back one at a time to visit me. At 4:30 p.m. I walked into the operating room. My OB held my hands while I got a spinal block. Once that was in my DH was allowed back in. I felt NOTHING!! The OB said we already cut and I had no idea! I did feel pressure as they were pushing in me to get the baby out. He was very high and they had to push a lot! At 4:49 on June 30th my baby boy Joseph Matthew was born. He was 7 lbs 13 oz and 19 inches long. They cleaned him off and brought him over to me. We were able to take some pictures then DH went with Joey to the nursery. They finished me up and brought me to recovery. I was able to move my legs by almost 6 and by the next morning my catheter was out and I was up and walking around. I did have pain but as ling as I asked for my pain medication every 4 hours I was fine. Everyday it got better and I was able to space out the pain medication more and more. By day 6 I did not need it anymore. I am feeling good now. I just have to take it easy. Joey is an absolute joy. He is a very good baby! If any of you need a C-section please don?t worry. I am a big baby when it comes to this sort of thing and I was fine! Good luck to all of you!
