TTC after 35

Another one bites the dust?

I'm pretty sure we're out again this cycle.  I had my typical PMS headache today along with some all too familiar brown spotting.  That makes it 12 cycles since our miscarriage last July 25th (after 3 cycles of trying). On to CD3 retesting and a more comprehensive SA for DH.  We have an RE appointment on 7/31 to go over al the results and I'm pretty sure a HSG and laproscopy are in my not too distant future.

DH and I have done a lot of soul searching this weekend about our decision to wait to start a family.  Although we've been married 12 years we don't regret waiting.  Simply put, we just weren't ready earlier.  The trade off is that it will just be a little harder for us to achieve our goal.  Luckily our relationship is strong enough to go through this challenge together.

Good luck to all you girls who are still in it!  I said a prayer for everyone at church today and I'm pulling for you all.

Re: Another one bites the dust?

  • I know exactly what you mean about waiting.  DH and I simply were not ready until the last year and a half.  We just never dreamed it would take this long or we would have starting trying earlier.  But no regrets, you can't change the past so we just look forward.

  • Sorry, Panda. But good luck on your next cycles.

I know what you mean about waiting.  DH and I were 37 and 36 when we married. We're now 40 and 39 (I'll be 40 in November).

I'm not one for regrets, but I do admit that there have been days when I've thought about the 2.5 years we were married before we TTC.  But what you said is exactly right for us, too: We were not ready.

We will have a kid. Who knows how - natural miracle, adoption, some or a lot of medical intervention, donor egg - there are a lot of possibilities!  And when said kid arrives, s/he will be greeted by parents who are absolutely ready for him/her. That last part is way more important than the details of how it happens.

  • Sorry Panda.  At least you have your RE appt coming up so you can start moving forward with some treatment.  Good luck and let us know how the appt goes.

  • I am sorry for all your struggles. And regret is a waste of time, so don't ever go there. I am sure it will happen for you soon.
  • Sorry that this month may be out.  I got PG last July and m/c in September so I feel your pain.  I was really hoping for a repeat PG this month.

Good luck at the RE.  We have our first appt at the RE next Monday.
