Would you buy a used CBEFM? I saw one one on craiglist for $25! I sent the seller an email asking how old it is and how many times she's used it. Would it be gross to buy a used one?
I used one from a friend of mine. Actually, one other had used it also. It had worked great for them (1st cycle, both times!), so I though, why not? Of course it stopped recognizing sticks after about 4 cycles. I did travel with it quite a bit, so I think it might have gotten tossed around a bit.
Anyway, I don't think its a problem, but I would definitely reset it. Look at the instructions or online for how to do it. It will have 'learned' the cycles of the previous user, but you can erase that and start over. (I had to search a bit for how to do it. I don't think they want you to know!)
I think someone on here has one she got from a friend...but, I've heard that as you use it it becomes adjusted to your cycles, so using someone else's was not reccomended.

I am using a CBEFM I borrowed from a friend and it works fine. You'll want to clean it according to the manufacture directions and then you'll also have to reset it to clear out the previous owner's memory. Just google resetting a CBEFM. There should be lots of entires on how to do this.

Good luck...much cheaper than buying one new!
