My water broke four WEEKS ago today...

and I've been hospitalized since. Baby's growing right on track, heartbeat is consistently strong, no signs of infection (I'm taking 1,500mg of Amoxil a day...I don't think I could get sick if I tried!) and no contractions or other signs of labor. My OBs expected me to deliver within days of being admitted (at 23w1d) and the one neonatologist I've met with said flat out that there's no way I'd carry to 28wks.

I'm 27w1d now and if I can just make it to 28wks I'll count every day after that a bonus. And I'll be sending that neonatologist a nice fruit basket :-)

I know there aren't many (if any) pPROM ladies here, but if you're out there, chin up - miracles happen!

Congratulations for making it this far!!!

We were given a pretty dismal prognosis when I was hospitalized at 23w, and here I am almost 8 months pregnant with a healthy baby. Feels good, doesn't it?

Amazing ladies!! I have a friend in the hosp. now, water broke at 24w2d and now nearly a week later she is doing well. Prayers for all of you - may you and your babies be strong and healthy! Stay put little ones and grow grow grow!

That's awesome!! You should be so proud of yourself. I had my baby at 32 weeks due to pPROM and I love the stories of where the docs were able to postpone labor.

That is so awesome that you have been able to hold off so long. I had DS at 32w 6d due to PROM. I was able to hold off 3 days to get the steriod shots. Hang in there. Everyday counts.
