How do you clean fabric toys that say not to submerge?

She plays with/mouths this toy all the time and I think it is in need of a good cleaning.

  • I put soap and water on a washcloth scrubbed it, sprayed it with lysol and then scrubbed it again. Not sure how safe the lysol was though.

  • wipe with a warm soapy wash cloth
  • As long as it doesn't have any battery/electrical parts, I pretty much wash everything, even if it says not to. Most of the stuffed animals we have say not to submerge, but I've been doing it for years with various items and have never had any problems.

For anything I really can't just throw in the washer, I'll spray any icky spots with a natural enzymatic cleaner and then wipe. The enzymes remove anything organic, so spit-up, food, blood, etc. They have good ones at pet stores, and you can get them organically as well.
