Oh dear loard, FIL brought an IPOD player

He plugged in this little IPod base thing in our family room, and started playing music (really bad fake Beatles music) so that he can counteract how we're making our kids autistic because we don't have the TV blaring.

We don't have TV this weekend because we're moving our TV into a different room and I "forgot" to call DirecTv to have them connect our satellite with our receiver until yesterday afternoon.

Re: Oh dear loard, FIL brought an IPOD player

  • OMG, can you run errands when he comes over? I don't know how you can stand it! You are very patient!!
  • Loading the player...
  • Yesterday we marched them through Ikea, and they were so worn out they went to bed at 8pm. The boys woke up super early, and the ILs woke up with them, then went back to bed until 9. They'll probably leave around noon, so not too much longer.

I've decided that every time they come over, we need to go on a long walking expidition (they are extremely out of shape). Teehehehe.

  • Oh dear God, your FIL almost makes me grateful for my IL's.  Almost, but not quite. At least they pretty much leave us alone these days.
  • Well you know, I read that long walks counteract autism as well.  It was in the same medical journal that your FIL reads :)    I say walk as long as you can.  And quickly.

And you are a saint.  I would have ripped that iPOD player out of the wall and thrown it at him.

  • What does your husband say about all of this?

Honestly, I don't know how you don't lose it. I seriously would have been screaming obscenities by now. But I don't have the best temper control.

  • I agree... you are a good good woman..I would have gone  BSC by now. Your ILs are INSANE a nd this coming every weekend crap...that's gotta go!  :)
  • Yeah, ditto to all the pp.  You are a saint.  I also heard the same advice from our OT and PT who work with lots of autistic children.  They have afternoon classes where they take fast paced hikes on paved trails EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.  They often use bikes with trailers hitched to the back.  LOL!

  • omg lmao! what the heck did you say? did you turn it off? hello boundries violation here.
