  I call it a binky. MIL calls it a plug and it really pisses me off, I don't know why. I wish they made one for MIL's lol

  We use paci which sounds ridiculous in public but that is what the nurses called in the hospital and it just stuck.  My SIL watches DS once a week and she calls it a binky because that is what she used with her kids. 

  And lol my dad likes to be called Pappy not gpa, that's funny people call is a pappy.

  I hate calling it that too.  I even bought "binky" brand pacifiers and still called them pacis or pacifiers.  Sometimes we call it a plug, but mostly I just say pacifier.

  We call it a "tete"... it's the hispanic word for it.  My husband is Brazilian and his family calls it the "peta" (use soft vowels)... which is short for "chupeta" which means sucker.

  DH calls it a nuk nuk and my parents call it a puffer. I call it whatever comes out- binky, paci or one of those 2.

  Nuky, which is derived from Nuk. My family has always called any paci that, since it was the type I liked as a child. It helps that it's the type my son uses too.

  We used to call it binky or pacifier.  Now we usually call it Billy-bob or Billy-bob the Binky.  That started because we stuck it in her mouth once when she was crying and it sounded like she said "Billy-bob".  So there you have it.  Now when we give it to her when she's fussy we say things like, "Here, honey, tell Billy-bob.  He understands."
