BG OS Inserts - issues - HELP PLEASE!

So I bought a previously loved set of BG OS from a lady and when I got them not only did I run them through a bleach cycle (had previously had issues with yeast from a "previously loved" set I bought and didn't want to go through that mess again) but also, after a few uses and seeing that the absorbancy isn't what it should be, I stripped them...the process I used went like this:
1) Soak inserts in hot mix of Dawn & water
2)HOT HOT HOT cycle with vinegar in the fabric softener spot
3) HOT HOT HOT cycle with dawn dish soap
4, 5, 6,....) over 10 wash & rinse cycles to get out all of the soap - there were still bubbles at the end of it but not many and I have a front loader and have read that you may always see bubbles in the cycle because of the shape of a front loader (I do not have a drain basin I could look for bubbles, so I just glanced throughout the cycle to see how many bubbles were present).

Well, this did not help the situation. I also have BG Fitteds that do not absorb properly and leak within 10 mins of wearing (bought from the same lady).

So, what gives? I'm at my wits end!

PLEASE HELP ME!

TIA!

The only thing I can think of that you haven't tried is bleach, but I don't know that it would help with absorbency.

All I can say is that you can buy a pack of BG inserts (I want to say a pack of 6 was $18, but I could be wrong - I got mine at the cotton babies retail store, but I'm sure they're online, too) for the OS pockets. As for the fitteds, you might be out of luck. :(

I hope some of the others have some better advice.

  • My only thought is to take them to a relative's house or laundrymat where you can use a top loader to strip them better than in your front loader.

  • Strip them "better"?
  • I would buy new inserts if you're having that much trouble
