Cincinnati Babies

RE doctors

I was wondering how many of you ladies have used fertility doctors (RE's for those who are familiar with that term) in the Cincinnati area.  Who did you go to?  What was your experience?  Would you go back?  Did you have success?  I'm currently going to Dr. Chin in Fairfield...getting ready to do my first IUI tomorrow.  I just wanted to hear some stories from others.  I can elaborate more if you're interested in my story.  Thanks.

Re: RE doctors

  • Hi!  We went to Dr. Chin for a bit and were unsuccessful with IUI's.  He is great and so is his staff!!  I wish he did IVF.  Now, we're going to see Dr. Awadalla in a couple of weeks about IVF.  I've heard nothing but great things about both Dr. Chin and Dr. Awadalla!  Best of luck to you:)

  • I go to Dr. Thie. She can be super hard to get into. I also have PCOS. Her staff is really nice and she explains things to you before she does them or tells you to do them. I like that she its you down before every appointment to talk with you about things. I'm not a big fan of medications, and she was very accepting of me not wanting to take Metformin unless absolutely necessary and was open to trying more natural things to treat it.
  • I saw Dr. Thomas at the Center for Reproductive Health.  I was happy with my experience.  I did all my testing in Cleveland and we never did IUI b/c it wasn't an option for us.  But I did get pregnant with my first cycle of IVF.

I wish you the best of luck.

  • I am not much help because I live in Dayton & will be seeing an RE in Dayton. Just wanted to say hello & wish you luck with your IUI tomorrow.

  • Dr. Thie does perform paps and such, but she doesn't deliver babies. She refers you to someone else for it, which stinks, but I totally understand. One doctor can't do it all I suppose.Smile
  • I am seeing Burwinkel at KMC.  They work with my ob/gyn & they are right next door to my office so that is super convenient.  I have my first appointment on 7/29 so we will see how it goes. They are in network for me but it really doesn't matter since it looks like we are completely OOP Sad

  • I have two very close friends who go to Dr. Chin and think the world of him. So I think you're in good hands! :) One of my friends has 2 little boys (not twins) from IUI's with Chin.
  • Thanks for all the advice, encouragement, and answers to my questions.  IUI went great this morning.  Now we just wait and see.  Just a little background on my issues...I had Stage 4 (the absolute worst) endometriosis along with ovarian cysts (related to endo).  I have been going to an OB/GYN in Lex., KY for the past year.  He has been treating my endo.  I have had 2 laproscopies, a uterine suspension (for tilted uterous), and a 6 month dosage of Lupron Depot.  This has gotten my body to the healthiest it will ever be for pregnancy.  The next step was going to an RE.  Because of the severity of my endo., and the fact that it will continue to come back, Dr. Chin wanted me to start IUI right away (the goal is to get me prego ASAP, so I continue not having periods, which of course is a great treatment for endo).  I was on Clomid and then I did an Ovadrel injection a couple days ago.  My ultrasound Friday showed 3 follicles, so that was encouraging.  So far, I really like Dr. Chin.  He's very aggressive and I really like that in doctor's, as I've had a bad experience with an OB/GYN in Cincinnati.  He was very gentle this morning and the IUI wasn't painful at all.  That's my story in a nutshell.  Thanks again for sharing...I'd love to hear more stories.
  • Russell100204 -- are you on facebook? I have some stories I could share with you but would rather not post them on here. Or do you have an email address?

    :)
