Birthing classes... I'm exhausted already!!

I've been looking for birthing classes in the Abq. I was very interested in Hypnobirthing but at $295 with the Albuquerque Birth Network I don't know if I can afford it, I have a baby on the way!!  So I looked up the Bradley Method only to find classes begin at $250... The only Lamaze teacher I see does classes at your home, so I'm sure it's bound to break the bank. What are you doing? How neccesary are classes for first time parents?

I just took normal birthing classes, free at my hospital.  But if you're looking to go pain med free, then you might want a different type of class, also are you using a MW?  They are great at helping with your wishing if you're looking for drug free.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

I did the one day class at Pres.  I was not trying to go med-free.  It taught some nice basics on breathing, but nothing very advanced.  Have you looked up the "Birthing from Within" lady?  She lives here and does some classes.
