WWYD: taking infant to a drive-in movie

We realllllllllllly want to see the new Harry Potter and I just saw that it's showing at a drive-in theater not far from our house.  Would we be insane to take our 2 month old?  She sleeps in her car seat pretty well and I wouldn't have a problem feeding her in the 'privacy' of our truck.  We were terribly tempted to take her to a late showing at the regular theater, but we decided that would just be too much.

I think it could be a fun adventure... (you listen to the movie over your car speakers so we could control the volume)

  • Heck yeah, I'd definitely do it! If I thought I could get Maddie to sit still for that long I would do that in a heartbeat.

I think that's a great idea for a kid that age- she would probably sleep at the theater too, but I know I would've been worried about Maddie crying and me having to leave. The drive in solves that problem!

  • I contemplated this last year, and probably would have done it if it wasn't 1hr each way plus the double feature- that was just too long to hope Emily would stay happy/asleep. If you are pretty close though, I would definitely go for it!

  • Heck yeah, go for it. The car is perfect so you can feed her if needed, control the volume, and she can sleep peacefully. Good idea!

Blair is watching Keira for me so hubs and I can go see it tomorrow afternoon. SO excited!

  • We took DD to a drive-in last night.  DD's bit older, so she was able to run in circles which isn't necessarily a good thing.  It's *definitely* worth it though, IMHO.  HAVE FUN!!! :)

  • Sounds like fun to me!  I'd definitely do it.  You're able to "go out" to a movie with your baby!  That's a plus b/c you're baby wouldn't really bother anyone b/c she's in the car with you!  That's really nice.
