That growth in my belly would be my son Ryder. Now, since he has not only grown and flipped to the head down position, he likes to push himself up near my ribs (not in my ribs thankfully)and lungs, so I have this weird looking lump. He will only do this on the right side, which is his favorite.
The other day I was sitting on the couch and I got this uncomfortable pressure in my stomach. I looked down and noticed how lopsided I was. And that there was a huge lump on the upper right side of my belly which was hard as a rock. I tried to push on it, and it pushed back. Sure enough it was Ryder. DH couldn't believe it. And the kids really got a kick out of it too.
We had this whole "science experiment" where they all felt my left side, that was squishy. Then they felt my right side, which was hard as a rock. They then looked at both sides and came up with the hypothesis that Ryder was on the right side. When they felt both sides and saw both side, the look on their little faces was priceless.
Re: I have a strange lopsided growth in my belly
Try putting a flashlight on your tummy and see if he follows the light. People have told me that their babies reacted to it.
Ben was head up in a V with his feet by his head, and I could TOTALLY see where his head was for the last few months. It woudl poke out a lot. Weird.
My son has been doing this for weeks! The first time it happened I was totally freaked out by it! Now I know whenever I get "that" pressure, what he's up to! It's kind of fun, isn't it?
PS I've got a right sider too!
another right sider! He is always on that side and I've got this weirdtilted belly thing going on most of the time.
Of course whenever I read Audrey stories at bedtime, he ALWAYS moves to the left, right where she sits on my lap! Then I get him kicking her, and her elbowing me in the spot that he is kicking. ouch!
Sibling rivalry already?
Nancy_Drew, that's so cute! Sounds like all three of us who are also have boys, have right sided boys. How funny! It is a little weird at times.
Jill, I will have to try that flashlight thing. Sounds like it would be something fun to do with the kids too. I am sure they would get a kick out of that.
