Infertility

May be a dumb IUI question but......

I had my first IUI yesterday.  I did my Ovidrel injection on Wednesday and my doctor said I would feel a bit of cramping when I ovulated last night.  I felt some cramping but don't know if it was from ovulating or not.  I'm having a lot of gas pain.  As in sharp pains through my abdomen area when I stand up.  I think it's because of being excited and nervous about the procedure yesterday.  I know there's some things you can't take when TTC so I was wondering what would be safe for me to take for the pain.  (I know tylenol but that won't help me with the gas pain.)  Also, has anyone else experienced this pain after an IUI?

  • Those pains are all very common after an IUI.  I'm 5dpiui and still having them.   You can take tylenol if the pain gets too bad.  GL to you!

  • Yuck!  That long?!  lol.  Thank you.  I was starting to wonder if it was normal or not.  I think my nerves and excitement got to me.  Last night it was really bad and the doctor said if I had bad cramping to call her back but I can tell it's gas (I haven't been eating well due to nerves and stress).  I will try the tylenol if the pain doesn't subside.  GL to you too!

  • I don't know anything about IUI pains, still waiting for AF before first IUI, but I wanted to wish you good luck and tell you that I hope you feel better soon.

    Good Luck!

  • I had pains like that too, especially during the first few days post-IUI.  They should go away soon.
