Sunless Tanning

So I'm in my brother in law's wedding next month and am wearing a short black dress.  I DEF need to get some color on my legs but know tanning, and mystic tanning (used last time I was pregnant and looked ridiculous) are not recommended while preg.  Does anyone know of any sunless tanning lotions that aren't streaky and look realistic?

Re: Sunless Tanning

  • did you ever try airbrush tanning?  It's not the same as mystic.  an actual person stands in front of you (while ur nakey) and sprays your body.  I did it before my own wedding ( 3 days before! i had balls) and it looked perfect!

  • I love Loreal Sublime Glow daily moisturzer.  If I use it for 2 days, I have a nice tan. It doesn't smell bad but it does have a fine sparkle to it.  I have been having trouble finding it this year. I'm very fair but use the medium and it looks good.

  • Jergens Natural Glow works great. Thats what I use!

  • The Dove and Jergens Radiance lotions with self tanners in them work really well.  I can't tan to save my life naturally and they are the only reason I am not still glow in the dark white.  They are pretty inexpensive too and as long as you use them daily you build a glow, so it still seems semi natural that you are gaining color.  They can be streaky if you don't take the time to rub them in all the way though, but they give you a really natural looking glow and once you get the shade you want you can just stop using them for a couple days to stay that shade.
  • I use Loreal Sublime Bronze too!  I'm very fair so I've tried tons and this is my fave (short of a good airbrush tan, but that can get pricey). It's tinted so you can see where it goes...and it's very forgiving. I put it on at night, and in the morning if there are any funky spots I can usually get them to disappear in the shower by scrubbing with a soapy washcloth. For everywhere except my face I wear latex gloves to apply it (taking the opposite one off when I do each arm), which really helps keep your palms clean. Did I mention I'm fair and have used tan-in-a-can a lot? ;)

Edit: Just realized ocho said she uses Loreal daily moisturizer which is a different product. Whoops.

  • Random answer, but it's worth a shot...

Not sure what your occupation is or if you know anyone in the spa industry, but lots of girls are willing to trade services!  I massage, so I work on my accountant, parent's lawn service owner, hair stylist, etc...and get products and services in return.

The spa I work for has an awesome bronzer body treatment, scrubs you head to toe and applies the bronzer so you are streak free and toned perfectly.  Many times they would be willing to take you in their off time for bartering purposes. :)

    Good luck!

  • Mystic Tan sucks but Versa Spa is awesome.  Looks natural and lasts for 7 days.  Only downside is you cant shower for 6-8 hrs after you have it done and it is a lil sticky while you wait.  My suggestion, go in at night and have it done then-I know, ick-sleep on it and should be set by morning.
