TTC after 35

May trigger TOMORROW

Apparently yesterday, I had 4 follies and now I have 3 (19X16; 21X19 & 17X12).  They think that they're going to have me trigger tomorrow night, so the retrieval will be SUNDAY!  So nervous, excited, terrified, hopeful, etc...!  I'm really hoping that there are other follies that have been hiding that they'll find when they do the retrieval and of course that the eggs are healthy and mature.

Does anyone have tips for the trigger, retrieval, or transplant?  We are supposed to be having people over for dinner next Friday, which would be day 5 after the retrieval, so I'm thinking that I may need to cancel that...?

My E2 is only 828. It was 772 yesterday.  The nurse didn't seem to think that that was a problem, but that seems weird to me.  I thought that it was supposed to grow by 50% each day.  The nurse said that that was OK b/c I only had 3 follies...?

Re: May trigger TOMORROW

  • Im rooting for you.  Sending mature egg vibes your way!

A couple tips: wear something comfortable to the ER, have something sedentary planned to do that day - ie movies to watch or books to read.  You may need something to distract your mind.  I was a wreck waiting for my fert report and it helped to have some distracting books to read.  Try not to worry about the ER procedure - I only had a little pain after.

You probably wont need to cancel your dinner if it 5 days after the transfer.  Most REs say you can go back to work the next day so Im sure a dinner 5 days later would be fine.  Make sure you make your H do the cooking and cleanup though :)

E2 level is related to the number of follies.  Generally it should be around 200 per mature follie - sounds like you are right where you should be.

Best of luck to you!  Be sure and post after with an update.

    Good luck!

I think they only way you might need to cancel dinner is if you do a 5 day transfer.

    :)

  • want to say good luck to you!!!
  • Definitely wear something loose and comfy to the ER.  That day is pretty much laying around afterwards feeling loopy.  (for me anyway)

I agree - if you have a 3dt your dinner should be fine; a 5 dt you would probably want to reschedule.

    GL! Keep us posted.
