The RE called (called! I didn't have to track them down like my OB/GYN. So exciting!) and said DH's SA results were normal. I asked for numbers, but I'm not sure exactly what some of them are. I googled, but that's not as much fun as asking you guys. Also, I'm not sure I got the 'official' terms for the stats, so I'm still a little confused after googling. Anyone willing to decipher?
Count: 89.8 million (seems really good - I see that 40 mil is considered normal?)
Motility: 41% (I read different takes on this but over 40 seems OK, especially with a high count)
"3/4 forward progress" - not sure what this is. Sounds like it would be motility, but she gave me a number for that specifically.
8% normal which she said was over the 3% normal standard - For 'normal' I see 30% standard online. Hmmm . . . maybe its a different scale? Refers to shape??

Re: Ok, you SA experts . . .
Count: 89.8 million (seems really good - I see that 40 mil is considered normal?) this is a good number
Motility: 41% (I read different takes on this but over 40 seems OK, especially with a high count) i think over 50 is considered normal, but 41 is not bad. Yes, a higher count will offset this a bit
"3/4 forward progress" - not sure what this is. Sounds like it would be motility, but she gave me a number for that specifically. This is a grade that measures the amount that move forward, 3/4 is good
8% normal which she said was over the 3% normal standard - For 'normal' I see 30% standard online. Hmmm . . . maybe its a different scale? Refers to shape?? This is morphology, which is the same as shape more or less. there are 2 different scaled WHO and Kruger, so find out which they used. Kruger has a lower number for normal range
