Has anyone else had PUPPP? Apparently I have it. The rash I've been fighting all week is not from the doppler gel after all. Just curious how other people faired with it-I've read that it can last up to 6 weeks (awesome-I'll be in Disney World in 3 weeks!!).I ALSO read that they did a big study of the rash and biopsied a bunch of women and found that male fetal DNA was found in all the skin biopsies so they think its related to carryin a boy. Anyone who's had it have any experience with that being the case?Just wondered how long other people were miserable with this stupid rash. Thanks!

Re: XP: PUPPP question from 2nd tri
I'm 35 weeks and mine just started maybe about a week ago, and it is ROUGH.
I tried all those lotions and creams mentioned, and benadryl, but nothing has worked so far...so I ordered some organic soap and cream online that I had read about.
It was from a website rainiersoapworks.com.
Check it out, maybe it will work for you too. GL.
I have it. It came on at the end of my second tri. The weird thing about mine was that it started on my arms and legs, not belly. The dr. did a biopsy and it confirmed. The Dr. said "oh so your having a boy". I was like "huh?". Then she told me up to 85% of women who have PUPPS have boys. Well, we had already had our US that said girl. My husband's grandma has 9 great grandsons and is so excited that we are having a girl. So just to make sure we didn't freak nana out, we went and had a 4D and she is a girl. I am just in the lucky smaller percent.
The Dr. gave me three levels of cream to use on it. But sometimes it is so spread out it is hard to put the creams on. I take Benadryl at night but there is not much that has helped.
I'm getting some benadryl cream tonight!
I'm way early to have it but it is what it is. My doc wont biopsy it unles it gets worse.
It started on my belly on Saturday and is now all over my thighs and parts of my arms and even my neck.
Thanks for the ideas on creams. Hydrocortisone made it worse but I will try some of these other ideas!
I have it, I am 40 weeks & 4 days (getting induced on the 22nd) but got PUPPPS about 2 weeks ago and am still itching.
To help with the relief I have been taking 2-3 showers a day with Cetaphil bar soap (heard Grandpas Pine Tar soap is good but smelly) and been taking a Benadryl before bed. Also OB recommended a dermatologist to get a steriod cream that is stronger than a hydro-cortaid cream and it has helped a ton (only put it on once a day)
Good Luck, this rash SUCKS!
I have had it for 2 weeks today and I am absolutely miserable!!
I am on oral and topical steroids and also have been taking dandelion root. I have tried everything OTC and the lotion that works the best for temporary relief is sarna lotion. I also bought the puppps relief soap and cream online from rainer. It seemed to give relief but I have used all the cream in 2 days and am anxiously awaiting a 2nd shipment.
Noone can understand how bad this is unless you are going through it.Mine started out on my lower belly and spread to my hips, allover my legs, my butt, tops of my feet, forearsms and behind my arms. I have heard of people being induced since childbirth usually stops the rash. I am trying my best to get through this but I can honestly understand wanting to be induced.
I am still working and have a job where I am out and about a lot of the day. I have to wear long maxi dresses and a long sleeve sweater to hide all of the welts. Every few hours I put sarna lotion all over and it helps for a little.
Good Luck!!!
