boy/girl party ideas

i know that i am jumping the gun on this a bit, but i want to have a huge celebration for my little ones first birthday.  i was thinknig of using the mickey mouse theme and i had told my friend about this and now she is using it for her sons bday next month, and i had told her some of my ideas(b-4 she used my theme) and now she is using all my ideas.  so now i feel like i need a new theme.  any suggestions for first birthday party ideas for boy/girl twins?? and i know i have 5 months but i like to plan ahead.  haha

    haha I'm jumping further than you .. I was wondering what was cute ideas .....

     

    I thought of maybe "Prince and Princess" 

     

    "Circus Theme"

     

    "Thing 1 & Thing 2" (thought most do that I think) 

     

    I think maybe the first 2 might be better when they're older but ya still have a lil time

    My three year old turned 2 five days after the twins were born. So their first and her third were so close, we decided to use this year to really have a blowout.
     
    We did princesses and knights, because it was broad enough for everyone, and because my older DD LOVES horses. We rented a horse - that they dressed as a unicorn :)
     
    Things you could apply:
    We had a castle cake (google images for ideas - I had the bakery make the layers and tint the frosting gray, then I decorated myself with ice cream cones and candy).
    We invited all the guests to dress up. Made for great pictures.
    We went to the dollar store and found lots of decor/favors - foam swords, crowns, etc).
     
    I bought personalized shirts for the kids from CafePress that were very cute. It was so much fun!
