My mom & dad already have three grand children so they go by "Nonnie & Poppie" ... BF''s mom wants to be called "Nema" like "Nemaw" and his dad isn't much around in his life so I'm not sure what he would want to be called if he does show up to be in his grandson's life...

My mom wants to be Gigi, which I think is adorable.

My dad and my FIL are currently in negotiatons over which of them will be Papa. I guess the other one will be Granddaddy, but I'm not sure.

My MIL won't tell me what she wants!

the ILs want to be Nana and Poppa.

(however, FIL's mom we call Bubba. she's an odd character, to say the least. everyone loves her for her eccentricity, with her surplus of hilarious-yet-embarrassing moments. she can also get pretty damn annoying, bahaha. we're secretly gonna teach our kid to call MIL/Nana "Bubba 2".)

my parents, on the other hand, pretty much demand to be Babcia and Abuelo. they'll also take however our kid pronounces it. Stick out tongue

my mom and step dad will be grammy and grampy.

my dad will be Jido (lebanese for grandpa) Not sure about my step mom.

My MIL will be Obachan (japanese for grandmother)

And my FIL...I've never even met him, but he has JUST recently come out of the wood work claiming he can't wait to be a "grandfather".

My mom isn't ready to be called grandma at the happy age of 50 so she has come up with Bubba....? where she got that who knows i've haven't called her mom in years, I gave her the nickname MoBo...

My mom is just grandma (or gammy), my dad is papa. As far as my IL, I have no idea what they want to be called, these are their first grandkids and they haven't said what they want to be called. My DD (not related to them) calls them JoJo and Captain....that's their nicknames from their nieces and nephews.

We also are very close to my DH's aunt's parents (by marriage) and we call them Nani and Papa. And my best friend and her husband (who are about 10-15 yrs older than my DH and I) already call the twins their "grandkids" so they will probably be Memaw and Pepaw.

our parents chose their own names. my mom is nana, and my dad is poppy. DH's parents are mima ("mee-maw") and papaw. i personally find it weird that there is a "paw" in papaw (as opposed to "papa" i guess).

My mom is called Pumpkin by my nieces and nephews. My dad used to call her pumpkin as a term of enderment--so oldest nephew thought it was her name and started calling her that.

MIL will be grams and FIL will be gramps (thats what his nephews call them)

My parents will be Uma and Umpa- my sister started this so I figure I won't confuse my kids by calling them something else. IL's will probably be Granny and Pappa- SIL started this one, and to save confusion I'll stick with the same names. What happened to just calling your grandparents and then attaching their last name to the grandma/grandpa part? lol.

My mom and MIL both wanted Nana which works out okay 'cuz my mom almost never sees my DD so she isn't confused by it. DD picked out my FIL's name (Papa) on her own and we taught her Grampy for my dad.

My mom and step-dad are Grammy and Papa. My dad wants to be Grandpa Troy, because his dad is Grandpa W (their last name). IL's haven't decided yet what they want to be called.

My parents chose to be called Mom Mom and Pop Pop. They (Mom Mom in particular) had to grow on me. But it's cute to hear DS say it. My ILs just go by grandma and granddad.

My parents are going by Gigi and Poppy... my mom looked through every single known grandmother name before deciding on Gigi. I told her since her last name starts with a G, I am pretending it stands for Grandma LastName. She says they are too young to be grandma and grandpa

Well my baby will be number two grandchild for my parents, so my neice got to pick what my parents got called.. We always new that my dad would be Papa (my grandpa is papa) and my neice aaliyah ended up dubbing my mom Nanny. I am not sure what Lilly will call her other grandparents, probably just Papa and Grandma..

MIL hasn't told us for sure but her 'step' grandkids just call her Grandma Cathy.
