TMI, but anyone have a yeast infection as their 1st pg sign?

I thought this might be the best board to ask on...I have *never* had a yeast infection before and I got one 5 dpo today its 9dpo and still too early to test. I've heard this could be a sign...but have also heard 5dpo would be too early to cause anything to happen.

The only time I get yeast infections is when I am pregnant. It's always around the time that I test and get a positive. Yeast infections are quite common during pregnancy because hormones are changing and everything in your nether region is changing.

But yes, 5dpo is too early for anything pregnancy related to show up...around 10 to 14dpo is about when early symptoms start to appear.

With my first one, I got a horrible yeast infection before I ever even missed my period. My sister said that was her first pg sign with both of her kids. I haven't had a repeat with this one yet.

Ahah! I tested positive last Friday and had signs of a yeast infection for a few days after that. I never get yeast infections! This all makes sense now...

Do you self-medicate? Are pharmacy remedies safe? (like Monistat)

Yes! I started showing the signs of a yeast infection at 7 DPO and tested at 9 DPO and got a BFP. Do NOT use the vaginal OTC treatment, just the external creme or at least check with your doc first if you think you are pregnant. Mine told me to get Monistat 7 day with external creme and just to try the external cream first and said not to do the internal supositories.

Yep! It was my only sign. I didn't even know it was a sign of pregnancy until after I found out I was pregnant. I only had a yeast infection one other time in my life and it was due to being on antibiotics.

Yup!! It was my first sign as well.. I actually took a test when i got it which came up negative (it was still kind of early, maybe 6dpo??). I waited a few more days and took another... and here I am:) GL!!

I have never had a yeast infection with a preganancy, however with my second pregnancy I had a UTI from hell! When I gave my urine sample for my pregnancy test it was full of blood. Then at the ambulatory care to get my UTI diagnosed and taken care of, the urine sample was clear compared to the first one. I had a friend tell me that UTI's were pretty common at the beginning of a pregnancy as well.

Thanks! I actually have a dr. appointment today b/c the otc stuff is not clearing it up all the way. yes, yes, I know I should have gone to the dr. first. or called. The only other things I have going on are a headach for the last 3 days and I feel HOT all the time. My office thinks I'm going through the change b/c I keep getting up and checking the thermostat thinking someing had turn off the a/c. I also chart and my temps have jumped up to 99 for the last 4 mornings. I'll let you know what the dr. says!
