I think I have mastitis

My boobs are still absolutely killing me, and one is hurting way more than the other. Starting at lunch I felt like I got hit by a train... I couldn't even finish my lunch (and that never happens to me!). I feel dizzy, nauseated, and just plain icky. I called my ob/gyn and they gave me an antibiotic. Hopefully it will kick in fast, because I'm leaving on Friday morning fora girls' weekend.

I'm just so frustrated because I weaned when I did so I didn't have to deal with it over my weekend away, and now I have to take my pump with me anyway... plus being on a/b, I won't be able to enjoy myself as much as I would have otherwise.

Jojo, you are not helping me build up my nerve to wean. YIKES. I hope you feel better soon!!!!!!!! Hopefully that antibiotic will kick in before Friday.

oh no!! So sorry, it is so painful

And now I'm worried too, I was debating weaning Ethan before a girls trip I'm taking in 2 weeks, but I've done nothing to move forward with that plan, and the kid hasn't had a bottle in months. Hmph, guess I might have to stay home if I can't show more dedication than that!!

Oh no! The antibiotics work really fast when you have mastitis. I had it many times and my experience was that I felt fine within 48 hours. So, although you do still have to take the antibiotics when you're on your trip, at least you won't feel like hell.

If you get the correct antibiotics then it will work right away and you will feel better. I had mastitis when Macy was 2 .5 weeks old and it hurt like heck. I didn't respond to the antibiotics they gave me and I was miserable for days. Then I was switched to another one and it worked fast. I hope you feel better soon and enjoy your girl's weekend.
