...it's not constipation since he has green diarrhea.
Anyone else's baby have this probem or have had this problem in the past? I feel so bad for my little guy. He goes through episodes where he stiffens and grunts and groans and screams/cries, and then 5 mins later he is ok. I spoke to the nurse earlier in the week and am going to call my doc again tomorrow.
Could this be an after effect of the rota vaccine?
Re: Stiffening legs while grunting and crying in pain...but
I don't think it's reflux, although I guess it could be. I kind of notice it more when I can tell he's trying to go to the bathroom that's why I initially was thinking it was constipation. poor guy.
I had asked the nurse about this earlier in the week when I talked to her and she totally brushed me off about it being a side effect to the vaccine, I will definitely talk to pedi tomorrow rather than just a nurse. I just feel so bad for him, and so helpless, I just want to make him feel better.
i totally understand. i HATE when the nurses brush you off. there is one nurse who is understanding but no nonsense and now i always ask to speak to her personally.
I was wondering about this, but I haven't changed my diet at all and have been eating the same types of foods for almost 12 weeks now....unless he's just recently developed it, which is certainly possible.
ugh - I am definitely calling again tomorrow!!
This is good to know - I will keep this in mind when I talk to the pedi.
I am really sorry that I can't remember exactly what I'm about to refer to so it's going to sound vague and I don't want to alarm you but I read a blog that was posted on here recently regarding a child who didn't make it due to a condition of something in the GI tract (that almost everyone survives though with treatment!!)- the symptoms were exactly what you are describing. I am only posting this so that you demand to talk to a pedi and not your idiot nurse about what this could be...I'm sure it's nothing though! (we didn't do rota so I can't help you there)??
Whoa. I know you're just trying to help but the symptoms that the OP is describing can also be colic (which peaks between 2-3 months) or reflux. If you can't remember the story you are vaguely referring to, you shouldn't post something like that, imo.
OMG - Thanks for posting, any idea what the blog link was? Interesting that you opted against the rota - we actually went back & forth about not doing it and finally decided to do it...
?
This is what I was referring to- so sorry that I needed to find it while I was pumping this morning. I'm SURE it's colic, but I did want to pass this on:
