Any Winthrop rec's..

We are looking at doing an overnight without Mason.  Sun Mountain Lodge looks amazing, but more then I would like to spend.  Anyone have other hotels they like or don't like?

    Sun mountain is a personal favorite, hence my name (where DH and I go engaged). But the Freestone Inn is beautiful too! :)

    That looks really nice, and is about 1/2 the cost of Sun Mountain.  Do you know about how far it is from Winthrop?

    DH and I stayed here and it's right in town.  The cabins were pretty nice and had a private hot tub on the deck overlooking the river.  We loved it there!

    Winthrop is really like a walk around during the day for an activity type thing maybe have a meal - so a doable outing from Freestone

    We spent a weekend here once a couple of years ago.  It was beautiful and the food was DELICIOUS!!  We stayed in the winter but I'm sure it would be just as great in the summer.  It's maybe 10 minutes from Winthrop by car, if that.
