? for those that have done Ferber

Does your LO still cry sometimes when you put them down for the night? We are on week 3 and some nights she will cry until we shut the door or other nights, like tonight she cried for 7 minutes. She even cries now when we walk into her room and stand in front of the crib before we lay her down. :-(

  • Yes, DS still does this. But almost as soon as we shut the door he stops crying and starts babbling. He is asleep within 2 minutes. Since it is not a scared, hungry, or wet cry, I think he is just angry because he doesn't want to go to bed.

  • We're only on the first week, but he still cries for a anywhere from one to five minutes. I agree that he's just pissed about going to sleep.
  • not personal experience but my cousin was telling all these stories about her kids recently. one kid screamed for 10 mins before going to sleep for a year. It was just her way of letting off steam. I think 5ish mins is ok and obviously your LO may just not want to go to bed :)
  • We are on week 3 right now too! I am listening to him cry as I type :( At first it really wasnt bad, but the past couple of days he's been crying himself to sleep for naps and at bedtime. Usually it would last no more than 5 min...but now he's back to 15, sometimes more!
