Flea Markets

Anyone know of flea markets in or around Anoka or St. Cloud? I am willing to drive about an hour....we live in Zimmerman.

What days and times are they open?

We are looking to make our own baby food and I would like to check some markets out. Thanks!!!

Re: Flea Markets

  • Do you mean farmers markets that sell food?  I always think of flea markets as big junky garage sales that sell used books and stuff.

For Farmers Markets there is one in Minneapolis that is open 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and one in Maple Grove on Thursday evenings.  I also did a google search and found a farmers market in Zimmerman https://www.pzfarmersmarket.org/

I'm not really any help if you're looking for a flea market though.

  • Also, I was thinking about making my own baby food - but I'm over it.  I go to the downtown farmers market once a week and they really don't have anything right now to turn into baby food, even if I wasn't lazy.  Like - you CAN buy bananas at the farmers market, but they certainly aren't local.  Same with avocados and mangos.  The only thing I can think of that's grown locally that you can turn baby food is sweet potatoes - but maybe I'm not being creative enough.

Now that DS is on to self feeding I bought some avocados and mangos at Trader Joes.

We use cloth diapers too :)

  • I would just buy organic from your local markets, save on gas, pollution, etc.  A lot of what is sold at FM, while perhaps local, is not organic.
  • Great link for you!  Talks about foods, introductions, how to make it and lots of recipes.
